Mental health doesn't occur in a vacuum therefore the work and focus on mental health shouldn't be limited to the couch for an hour a week. There are many factors that contribute to our mental health. We are holistic beings and the medical model adopted by our mental health system lays out a very narrow view that doesn't always encompass our entire beings. Its no secret that there is great stigma surrounding mental health but it doesn't have to be that way. By taking our journeys off the couch, we are able to explore our concerns and their respective solutions in a manner we may have not known, or even forgotten, existed. It is imperative that you know YOU are the expert on your life. It is my hope here that knowledge and wisdom can be gained while providing a place for resources to be obtained. Topics will be explored and not limited to mainstream. Mind, body, and spirit will all be considered. Tools will be provided; however, advice and in-depth counseling should be sought by a mental health professional in your area.
