Climb Hot Springs The Climb Hot Springs is a Running race in Hot Springs, South Dakota consisting of a Stair Climb - 31 floors/680 steps. 7 MILE COURSE: Climb 657 steps over five flights, ranging from steep and straight to grand and curving. Just in case that isn't workout enough, you will also run up two big hills, covering a total of seven miles. The 7 mile race is competitive with adult male and female age categories as well as male and female finishers first across the finish line. 3 MILE COURSE: Best option if you are not accustomed/conditioned for climbing stair. 264 steps, which will give you plenty of bragging rights and the very best sights the route has to offer! The 3 mile fun run is non-competitive with this exception, first male and female across the finish line will receive an award. The above information is from previous races and is subject to change. This race was inspired from the Stair Climb event in Bisbee, Arizona. Both Hot Springs and Bisbee have staircases that were built as the communities were growing. Hot Springs was formed incorporated in 1890 and the original staircases remain. The race will resume in 2021 with a date of September 25.
