O Gladsome Light is a place for Eastern Orthodox Christians and those curious about Orthodoxy to discuss the Orthodox faith. Conversations are expected to remain cordial and respectful. This is not a place for polemics, for the promotion of non-orthodox communions or theology, nor for political harrangue and filibuster. For all practical purposes Orthodox Theology is understood as that consistent with the original Nicene Creed, aligned with and obeient to the Seven Ecumenical Councils.

There are key differences between the notions of the freedoms and entitlements, otherwise known as "rights", described in secular society and those described in the Bible. This group was created to explore both commonalities and differences between these accounts and see what principles and assumptions ground them.
