Health Benefits of the Pawpaw Fruit
I was just watching a video about a fruit that doesn't grow in the western US, that I have never eaten but would love to try. It is the Paw Paw fruit.

Why America Forgot Its Largest Native Fruit
19 views
Pawpaw once fed Indigenous communities, rural families and a nearly provisionless American expedition. Today, America’s largest native fruit is missing from most grocery stores—even though the tree still grows across much of the East.
Most people assume Americans simply stopped liking pawpaw. This documentary follows a different story: the fruit survived, but a food system built around long shipping, uniform harvests and shelf life filtered it out. Then much of the breeding work that might have helped pawpaw return was lost.
From Cherokee and Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) food knowledge to William Clark’s 1806 journal, early American breeding orchards and today’s regional growers, this film traces how Asimina triloba moved from seasonal food to the edge of American memory.
You will discover:
• Why pawpaw was once preserved and carried beyond its short harvest.
• What Lewis and Clark’s expedition actually recorded in September 1806.
• Why a ripe pawpaw has only days—not weeks—to reach an eater.
• How America lost much of its early pawpaw breeding work.
• Why modern growers are building a different path back.
Pawpaw also has genuine limitations: wild flavor can vary, the fruit contains large seeds, pollination can be difficult and ripe fruit bruises easily. This is not a story about a perfect crop destroyed by one villain.
FORAGING AND FOOD-SAFETY NOTE
Correct identification is essential. Collect only where it is legal and clean, with the landowner’s permission. Use fully ripe fruit from a trusted source, eat only the pulp, discard the skin and seeds, and remember that individual tolerance varies.

Ignorant Mayor Orders Arrest, Gets Sued, LOSES in Court

In Newton, Iowa in 2022, disgraced police officer Nathan Winters falsely arrested Tayvin Galanakis, a completely sober college football player for DUI. A local kid, Noah Peterson, was outraged and calmly criticized the Newton Police Department, as well as the Newton Mayor, during a city council meeting. The ignorant and corrupt mayor ordered his arrest, in violation of the First Amendment. The Institute for Justice took on his case, filed a lawsuit, and just scored a huge win for free speech. I got the chance to speak with Patrick Jaicomo, Senior Attorney with the Institute for Justice about Noah's case.

The Truth About the Explosive Diarrhea Parasite Outbreak?
The CDC is tracking a major increase in Cyclospora infections across the United States. At least 1,645 domestically acquired cases have been confirmed since May 1, 2026, while more than 5,100 additional cases require further analysis.
In this video, Dr. Daniel Park explains the symptoms of cyclosporiasis, why the illness can disappear and return, how Cyclospora testing works, who may face a higher risk of complications, and when persistent diarrhea requires medical attention.
Cyclospora is commonly associated with contaminated food or water. A separate multistate outbreak has also been linked to recalled iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico. Always check the latest CDC and FDA recall notices before consuming potentially affected products.
This content is provided for general educational purposes only and is not medical advice. Do not diagnose or treat an illness based solely on this video. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for symptoms, testing, treatment, medication and food-safety guidance.

Why is Fargo-Moorhead building a 30-mile-long channel around an entire city?
Every spring, the Red River threatens to flood one of the flattest regions in North America. After devastating floods in 1997 and 2009, engineers realized they couldn't simply build a dam. Instead, they designed one of the largest flood protection projects in U.S. history: a massive diversion channel that redirects floodwater around the metro before safely returning it to the Red River downstream.
To see how it works, we followed the water from the moment it reaches the southern control structures all the way to where it rejoins the river north of Fargo.
In this video, you'll see:
• How giant control structures regulate floodwater
• The 30+ mile diversion channel built around Fargo
• One of the only river aqueducts in the United States
• The 19 new bridges needed to cross the channel
• More than 45 million cubic yards of earthmoving
• The massive fleet of scrapers, excavators, trucks, and dozers building the project
• And how hundreds of thousands of people will be protected from future floods.
This project isn't just about moving water. It's one of the largest earthmoving operations in North America, combining heavy civil construction, hydraulic engineering, and environmental restoration to permanently protect the Fargo-Moorhead region for generations to come.
A huge thank you to ASN Constructors for inviting us back to document this incredible project and everyone who helped make this video possible.
