Acts 15:18, KJV.
A great dispute arose because Jews from Jerusalem were teaching the converted Gentiles that they must keep the law of Moses.
Now salvation comes only through Christ Jesus, the Son of the Living God.
Peter responded that God gave the believing Gentiles the Holy Ghost without them conforming to the law of Moses.
Then Paul and Barnabas declared all the miracles and wonders God worked among the Gentiles.
James addressed the group, reminding the assembly that God has promised all men, including the Gentiles who seek Him, eternal life through Jesus Christ the Lord.
The lessons to be learned: Salvation is by grace, through Christ.
God knows who belongs to Him.
Do not put burdens on believers that God never required.
Unity comes from submission to God.
Jews, Gentiles, males, females, young and old are all equal in God's eyes; all receive eternal life by grace and faith in Christ, not in the law.
The law offers no forgiveness, only guilt or innocence; there is no mercy.
Christ, and Him alone, has paid for all the sins of all who believe. Amen.
