Matthew 6:9.
Jesus continues His Sermon on the Mount.
Speaking about prayer, not to use vain repetitions, not loud or long, but from the heart.
These will find God's ear.
Matthew records a template of a prayer; most call it the Our Father.
Christ said, "Your Father in heaven knows what you need before you even ask."
So in this manner, ask, honor God, as our Father; He is not a Father to just one.
His name is Holy; His kingdom is in heaven.
His kingdom is coming; we need to be alert, watching. His will be done; it will be received by believers, rejected by the world.
Everything we need will be provided by God; we will lack no good thing.
Our sins are covered by the blood of Christ; we must forgive all who have transgressed against us. If we refuse to forgive, we forfeit our own forgiveness.
God will never tempt us with evil; He will provide deliverance from it.
Salvation is offered to us because of God's kingdom, because of the glory of His great name, because of the multitude of His tender mercies.
Because of His great power to separate good from evil, for all of eternity.
Pray with a heart filled with God.
Sometimes we just need to thank Jesus. Amen.
