In every situation—married, single, your job, school, home—you have been found by God and are to abide with Him, physically, spiritually, and relationally, continuing with Christ with enduring faith.
You are free in Christ; you are not a slave. You make your own choice.
Freedom is not the absence of constraint, but the presence of the right Master.
We belong to Christ, purchased by His blood. We need not be anxious about any circumstance. Christ, our Master, is sovereign over them all.
Be careful of time; it is not on our side.
The believer who lives in the light of eternity will hold the things of this earth loosely and heavenly things with a firm grip.
Own things, but do not be owned by anything or anyone but Christ.
Paul reveals the spiritual advantages of being single, for you care for the things of God. It's not for everyone. If you're married, you have not sinned. God blessed the married with bringing children into this world. And marriage is a covenant agreement and should be permanent.
The lesson: Bloom where you are. You have been called to be faithful to Christ the Lord, and He is with you.
Do not fear men or situations. Christ is in it; there are no surprises to the Son of the Living God.
Be content with where you are. Know that God is in your circumstances at this very minute.
Attend to the things of God without earthly distractions.
Time is short, eternity is long.
Focus on eternal things; those things will last.
Cultivate an undivided heart for Christ. Sit at the feet of Jesus, not because there is nothing to do, but because you choose the better part.
Pursue the Blessedness of Christ.
