THE THINKER Tina Toon Cartoon published 04/28/2026 When John Fetterman was first elected Senator, we were not very kind to him. We thought he was another run-of-the-mill socialist Democrat. In addition, he dressed as he pleased—not in suits, but rather in hoodies and tennis shoes. Plus he had mental difficulties. It made it easy to caricature and criticize him. After Fetterman’s accident and concussion , things started to change. Although Fetterman remains a Democrat and often votes along party lines, he has shown himself to be a Senator with common sense, integrity, and intelligence. In particular, he realizes that his party has gone way too woke and out of step with the majority of Americans. In interviews, he has displayed thoughtfulness—something not seen in Democrats such as Schumer and AOC. In fact, Fetterman can be called the thinking man among his peers. He has called for an end to ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ which has led to multiple assassination attempts. He wants law and order. He doesn’t want Iran to get nuclear weapons, and recently he has supported the ultra-secure White House ballroom that Trump is trying to get built without taxpayer funding. We may not agree with everything Senator Fetterman stands for, but we applaud his attempt to get his party to pull back from the brink of insanity and embrace logic and reason. Will he be successful?
