I bought silver a few years ago... in the form of silver dollars. That's the WORST way to buy silver because of the huge premium paid over spot for coins. However, if SHTF, silver dollars are immediately recognizable, so the premium pays for that.
I had coins and bullion that the second ex absconded with. I was building my bank account up to be able to make some purchases but I think I missed my chance.
