.308 fer sure.

35 Whelen or 350 Legend. Whelen kicks more, and the 350 delivers about as much punch. While .308 and 30.06 will work very well, they are more a longer distance round than an in your face encounter like this one. For helicopter use the .308 AR10 would be weapon of choice.
