After Prayers are Answered
Last week we really needed great weather and we got it. All the days were not predicted to be as good as they turned out to be, but they turned out perfect for what we were doing.
Prayers do not always get fast results. And "no" and "wait" answers can be hard when we want help right away. But when we pray for gorgeous weather and we get gorgeous weather, it is not a coincidence and we are not lucky. It is an answer to prayer. We are not being arrogant to claim it as that. We are giving the credit where the credit is due.
It is not that every prayer for gorgeous weather is answered with gorgeous weather. Not every prayer for rain is answered with rain. But God can and does impact the weather according to His will, and sometimes that will is to help His children because they asked.
God also sets natural laws in motion that quite often are the cause of normal weather within a season. Weather does not always require God's direct intervention, but sometimes it does.
So, when weather impacts what is going on in our lives, we pray, just like we pray about anything else. We bring our requests to God and we leave the answer to God.
Last night we went to bed to a warm night. This morning we woke to rain and a nearly 20°F drop from yesterday's high to today's high.
We wouldn't have minded another gorgeous day. Who would? But we did not require it.
It was still a mild day for this time of year, and the rain was needed after our gorgeous, sunny and dry, week.
Stay strong! Bring all your requests to God and trust Him with the answers.
