Eye Opening
This is not a book review. There are no spoilers here. The experience of reading this book should be taken page by page and chapter by chapter, as it builds upon what came before.
I just want to recommend that anyone who wants to understand what has been hidden from us--in plain view, because we never connected these pieces--to read this book.
It is an eye opening experience. I have read many of Jonathan Cahn's books, especially the recent ones. But his newest one, "The Altar of Pergamon" makes me feel that most of what I learned in history is mere scraps, and I love history.
Meshing the physical and the spiritual battlefields in this book reveals so many things that were missing from world history, even for us Christians who believe spiritual warfare is going on all around us.
I bought the physical book and also the Audible copy, which I listened to by myself and then again with my daughter. The second time around I could retain more, as I got past the "are you kidding me?" moments.
This is not only about past history, but gives us an inkling of what is to come. I study Bible prophecy, and this has the feel of it, except revealing what we need to know, to better understand what was, so our eyes are open to more clearly discern what is coming.
It reminds me again that every word in the Bible, has a purpose, even if we think it is just mentioned in passing.
Stay strong! It is a blessing to see clearly, not only the present, but the past as well.
