Changing Plans
The much needed rain came today, and watered everything. We had quite the drenching, which was good as it was getting very dry again.
Though today was wet, it was a gorgeous Labor Day weekend and Labor Day itself, so that was really nice. A lot of plans involved time outside, which the beautiful weather helped bring about.
The rain today came hard enough and lasted long enough to change our afternoon plans. But our morning plans were fine. It went from pouring rain to drizzles by the time we were ready to shop.
My sister picked up my daughters and me and we did some shopping. It was really nice getting to spend time together and get some things we wanted and needed.
Even though the rain was basically over before 11 a.m., it remained damp amd overcast. So anything other than our normal farn chores outside, were out today.
I can hardly complain about rescheduling for the rain, since this year has been a dry one. We really have not had to reschedule very often because of the weather. Other things have caused us to reschedule things, but the rain rarely was the cause.
In our life we must make plans and schedule things, or we would easily overlook some things and overbook others.
And though scheduling works most times for things outside of our daily chores, it can get shaken up and rearranged for many reasons.
Because scheduling does not guarantee that we will be able to do all that we plan, even with lots of prayers tied to it. Weather and other things may come into play.
But I know that whatever happens, that Jesus will be with us in it. We don't need to schedule God, but when we trust Him and pray, He is already a part of our day, whatever befalls.
Whenever I make plans, even without saying it outloud, it is always, "Lord willing".
That does not stop me from much, because walking with Jesus, most things that I am wanting to do, the Lord is willing for me to do as well. But when it comes to my plans being rearranged, that sometimes happens, and I figure there is a reason.
If we could speak to one another about our day, we would find that while one thing made us need to rework our schedule, the same thing was advantageous for another's schedule. As a whole it would look a lot more organized than we imagine only seeing our side of it.
Stay strong! Reworking, rescheduling and rearranging are often a part of life. That it doesn't happen all that often means that things are really moving along rather nicely.
