Nevertheless
When discussing things within the Christian community, the family of God, there are enough individual preferences on to how to worship, what to preach about, how to dress, etc. That sometimes the only end to a debate is "Nevertheless".
Yes, there may be points of contention betwee people. Yes, we have different backgrounds and experiences, but if we are claiming to be Christians this, "nevertheless" should silent much debate.
"Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: 'The Lord knows those who are His,' and, 'Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.'”
II Timothy 2:19
Pretty simple. Pretty deep.
No matter how many credentials a person puts forward that may convince others that he is a Christian, nevertheless, God knows who is His.
That is foundational, "the solid foundation of God stands, having thise seal, that God knows His own, He won't ne tricked.
Wrapped up in that seal is the knowledge that Christians must depart from iniquity. It is not an option.
No matter how many fancy words or how elaborate a case we make otherwise, nevertheless, if we are naming the name of Christ, we must depart from iniquity.
If anyone teaches that you can go against the word of God, and do anything God calls sin, it is a garbage teaching. It leads to iniquity and God says that we cannot go there.
No matter what someone thinks the path to Heaven is, if it does not make Jesus the only way there, the Lord of all, it is so much rubbish.
Debates and arguements can, and should, be set aside, as futile, if the parties involved cannot agree on the foundation that God knows His own, and anyone claiming to be God's own, must depart from iniquity.
