Tender Heart to God, Hard Heart to Evil
The state of our heart affects many things. Where our allegiance is matters.
Th have a tender heart towards God, able to listen to His voice, learn from Him and be moved in love for Him matters.
To have a hard heart towards evil, steeled against its temptations, unmoved by its persuasion, matters.
To have the opposite is to be on the path to destruction without a sign of leaving it.
To be hard hearted towards God, ignoring His word, ignoring the sacrifice of Jesus, ignoring His open arms, is to reject the wellspring of righteousness.
To be tender hearted towards evil, making excuses for what it does and causes, to side with those who stand against God, is to accept the sludge pit of wickedness.
When we soften our heart to one, we must also harden our heart to the other. And that impacts not only this life, but our eternity.
"Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: 'Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, in the day of trial in the wilderness, where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, and saw My works forty years. Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, "They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways." So I swore in My wrath, "They shall not enter My rest." ' "
