Sheltered in the Arms of God
Sometimes we just need to be sheltered in the arms of our Father God. It is an amazing thing that God can make happen when we seek it of Him.
It is hard to describe, but it is somethig like a meshing of our spiritual connection with God and our physical being, encompassed in His arms.
It does not require hard times or sad times, though we usually seek out the comfort of God then. That is more like crying on Daddy's lap.
But when we seek out the arms of God, just for the sake of being with God, it is something so special that happens between us. It is a taste of eternity.
That is what true quiet time with God is. It is not a bunch of words, or even reading the Bible or studying, though that usually takes place in quiet.
It is being present in the presence of God. It is simply surrendering to the comfort of God, like the child on the lap of their father watching stars or simple snuggling in and falling asleep.
It is different than prayers, though simple conversation is a part of it. It can happen at any time, but is easiest in the early morning, befire alarms wake us, or when we wake up in the middle of the night.
It is a different kind of quiet then. We can still feel the lingering dreamlike sleepiness that makes us instinctively reach out to God.
Even many Christians have no idea of this, because they are too busy, even in their time with God, to simply rest in Him.
It may seem too simple to matter, but it matters. It revitalizes us. It resets our connection. It brings us strength and peace.
Stay strong! Take time to just be with God!
