View MoreJanuary 6, 2026, the 6th day of 2026 Taking it as it Comes Living in the Northwoods we basically learn to take it as it comes, or we will not be very happy for very long. We will face disappointments, but they won't crush us. It is an odd way that we learn this, because it mostly comes from the fickle and ever-changing nature of our weather. This is especially true of the winter weather. Its changeable tendency teaches us that early on. Plans can be changed in an instant by the weather. And now with instant weather forecast apps on phones, those expected changes can impact our day, even if they never arrive. It may be the reason that some people who never learn this, up and leave at the oddest provocation. More than likely the build up of uncertainty got to them. They just could not handle that last--one more thing--that had been added to it. I understand. Some years it really can feel like it is futile to make any plans at all, because they will just be thwarted. So, in response we develop the "take it as it comes" attitude. It is a bit different from the "wait and see" attitude, because we actually make plans, but are not surprised if we have to delay our plans or put them off because of circumstances--not always weather related. It is hardest on those who are controll freaks to learn this lesson, as they need to accept that there are many things that really are outside of our contol. But as I have surrendered my life to Jesus, I understand that this means that Jesus can change my plans at any time. I accept that God knows better than me what is best, even as I make plans. There is a kind of arrogance built into thinking otherwise. "Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit', whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.' But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil." James 4:13-16 Every morning I give the new day to the Lord. I pray over decisions and I make plans. I put dates on my schedule. But I know that it is all contingent upon God's will for my day. So, I hold my day and my schedule gently, knowing that God may have other things in store for me than those I have planned for. There really are so many things that are outside of our control. We actually have such a fragile grip on any of it. We inagine our grip stronger for our own peace of mind. But in reality changes can come, in an instant, and shake us to the core! The best we can do is to make sure our core is grounded in Jesus! Stay strong! Give your day to Jesus and hold it up to God, that no matter what you will stay true! NAN

View MoreJanuary 3, 2026, the 3rd day of 2026 No One Escapes the Final Judgment Outside of Jesus Christ God's love is perfect, but it does not look like the kind of love that we are used to describing as love. God's love is not mushy and emotional. It is true and strong. God's love does not overlook sin and wickedness. He sent His beloved Son Jesus, to suffer and die to pay for the sins of the world, so that anyone who choose to repent and follow Jesus could be saved and become His child. That was definitely not necessarily for God to do, except for that love that saw beyond who we are to whom we can become in Jesus. But for that change to happen, Someone sinless not only had to come and point the way--but to make the way--to God. God Himself, in the flesh, Jesus Christ, did just that. But since that same love cannot allow evil and corruption to exist once this world's time runs out, it will be thrown into the Lake of Fire along with all who follow its path. What awaits those who do not repent and turn to Jesus is the final judgment and second death, in the Lake of Fire. If we neglect so great a salvation in Jesus, there is no other way to be saved. Standing before God in judgment, trying to justify our actions, will prove pointless. God has books written not only of our actions, but the thoughts and intents of our heart. All are guilty and stand guilty before the Righteous Judge. If your name in not written in the Book of Life, because you never repented and surrendered fully to Jesus, you are not a child of God. If you are not a child of God, you will be judged on your own merits, which won't stand in the end. God's love will stand by His children to the end, but the wicked standing against His children will be dealt with more harshly than we can imagine. But that is also part of His love, snuffing out evil in all its forms. The priceless gift of salvation through the shed blood of Jesus, rejected for whatever reason, is enough to condemn you. Nothing else would be needed, but the record of your life, will also testify against you. There will be no hiding on that day. And the bravado of the whispers of the Devil, will be silent. Only you with your life, your words, your deeds, your thoughts, exposed, and God. Then will come the knowledge of what you had willingly thrown away and lost. Then it will be too late. That is why, in this lifetime, you need to choose Jesus, or the choice is set in rejection. The way to eternal life not taken, leads to destruction. Since you are still alive to read this, the choice remains and all comes down to this: will you repent and turn from sin, surrendering your live and your all fully to Jesus as your Lord and Master, your King? Or will you reject the way Jesus made for your salvation and remain an enemy of God? In this life there is yet mercy, the call to repentance and the chance to turn to Jesus. Rain falls on the just and the unjust. Gifts are given by God, to help in the lives of the righteous and the unrighteous. And time is given to choose, which eventually ends when your life ends. What we do with all of that is our free will choice. And our free will choice to follow Jesus or remain on the path of Destruction will determine our outcome in the end. Stay strong! God's love made a way for you. But that way must be taken. And that way is Jesus! NAN
