A Summer-Like Day
Today reached 82°F and had a warm south breeze. So, of course, as I had the time, I took a bike ride.
It was 70°F when I started out and 78°F when I got home. On the way home the south breeze got a tad more powerful, so it was a bit of a fight biking into it. But it was still nice.
Then the temperature continued to rise and got up to 82°F. We all enjoyed being outside for various chores early on, but then got a bit hot, so we waited for the sun to go down a bit before finishing up some outside work before evening chores.
It was a taste of summer, but the trees were golden and the sky a deep blue, the sun was already lower as well, so it all the other signs were of Fall. But it was a glorious feeling of warmth!
We haven't turned on the woodstove yet, even with the cooler nights. So the cooler indoor temperatures actually felt nice to come into. Then we opened all the windows to let in warnth for the evening. It was a great combination.
The sun is setting and it still feels so nice outside. Blessings on top of blessings with such a day! I thank God for the beauty of it!
