No matter what we claim of accomplishments, without the life God gave us and sustains in us, we could do nothing. Because God gifts us talents and abilities, we are fit for our lives. They are given to us raw and we need to hone them. What we do with them is our free will choice. They are given to us to use wisely, but many are foolish. Used properly we can do a lot more than we would inagine. God always is ready to take us to the next level, it is we who hold Him back. God can only use as much as we give Him. So, our unfruitfulness is because we hold back what is necessary for growth. Gardening is a prime example of our part and how God is in the increase. It also shows that we humans only have so much power over even a simple thing like growing a garden. Unplanted seeds will not be fruitful. The potiel is there ready to be utilized. But if we do not do our part and plant them properly, that potiential is untapped. If we are faithful to plant, but do not water, or get another to water for us, the rain may, or may not, be enough to grow a fruitful plant. The nutrition of the soil, the temperature we plant the seeds, if we weed properly all come into play in giving our seeds a fighting chance. But let's say we do everything perfect in planting, tending and raising our plants, either alone, or with help from others. What is it in us that will make the plants produce their crop? Nothing! It is all from God, wrapped up in the seed. If we planted pebbles and worked and slaved over them, we would not get a plant from them, much less a crop. The increase is from God alone. But for us to get that increase, we need to put in the work. We can do our part in planting the seeds that God made with the ability for more seeds to come from the seeds we planted that brought forth the harvest that God made them for. One little seed itself, has the ability within it to produce not only a harvest, but future plants and future harvests. That is a miracle in itself, beyond even our comprehending, even if we put long explanations to it. Each person can only do their part, and all parts are important, but they are equal to each other in the fact that without God's input, no soul would be saved. God is in the increase. We can water our plants and tend them, keeping them weed free and nourished, but we do not have ability to make them produce their crop. We cannot provide what only God provides, that spark of life. Scientists may manipulate what God has created, but they cannot bring forth life out of nothingness. Trying to imitate the beginnings of life, they brought forth death. That is easy. Destruction is easy. In trying to play God, they still must use God's creation. They used it. They manipulated it. They twisted and genetically modified it, ignoring the God given blueprint and supplanting their own over it. But anything of life was stolen in the process, not created by them. God is the Creator. The giver of life. Almost everything in nature speaks of more than the natural, but speaks also of the supernatural. So, in a debate on who was the most important in a soul's salvation, the Bible uses the idea of working with plants to show this truth. "Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor." I Corinthians 3:5-8 Stay strong! Do your part accordung to God's plans and He will provide the increase! NAN
