Which, if you think about what that actually means for a second, it's literally how, "Lyme disease," and the rest get transmitted faster. WHAT TO DO: 🔹️1. Use a fine good grip tweezers. It is your best one to pull the tick. 🔹️2. Grip it right where the mouthparts enter the skin, not the body, the head. 🔹️3. Pull it straight up, steady, no twisting, no jerking. It’ll feel like it’s resisting because it is, the mouthparts are barbed. 🔹️4. Just keep the pressure on and it lets go in a few seconds. 🔹️5. If a piece breaks off in the skin, leave it alone. Your body pushes splinters out. 🔹️6. Do not dig. Digging around with a needle does more damage then the fragment ever would. 🔹️7. Clean it with alcohol or soap. 🔹️8. Wash your hands. 🔹️9. DON'T FLUSH THE TICK‼️ 🔹️10. Tape it to an index card. 🔹️11. Clear packing tape right over the body, write the date and where on your body it was, and stick the card in a drawer. 🔹️12. If you come down with anything weird in the next 30 days, rash, fever, joint pain, that flu-that-isn’t-flu feeling, that tick goes with you to the doctor. 🔹️13. Some labs will test the tick itself, which is faster and often more reliable than waiting for antibodies to show up in your own blood. 🔹️14. I have the red meat tick disease according to the doctor. Hard to tell cause I eat all the red meat I want. No effect on me. I also had rocky mountain spotted fever and never knew it until it showed up in a blood test years afterwards. Wonder if it is all the beer I drink
