Fist ill state ive always have had an open mind but still need to see the evidence kind of person. Ok my Grandmother had high Blood pressure and Diabetic, and years later i found out Moia moia i I believe it was where the blood vessels in the Brain slowly stroke out as new ones grow, wasnt named at the time, but years latter my sister developed it. Well my Grandmother had died twice before she finaly passed and told me of her near death experiences, both different and scared her, she was strait shooter and devout luthern. So one night i was cruising with a buddy and we where talking about this at night, i lived out in the country and just get done telling him the story and my car dies out for no apparent reason right under the one and only street light in the area for atleast 5 miles after a couple minutes it starts up. Just a little weird to me. 2 i Got a Job in Milwaukee area and use to head back home to the UP of Michigan at times for the weekend so, generally dark when heading home and being an Impatient teen often speeding, i cant say how many times i would be hauling ass and id just hear a voice in my head that would only say Cops, id slow down and sure enough the police would go by or be setting, looking for speeders. Whew close call, ive never heard the voice say anything else or feel it came from Me, Weird. 3 ok my Ghost Story Well i Did asbestos abatement and a lot of road travel in the UP of Mi after leaving my job in Milwaukee. The Company i worked for did comercial pipe insulation, the Owner of the company was a lady, very dry personality, her Mother was her secretary and quite the opposite , Bubbly, colorful dressing going to Pow-wows and such, she had asked me at one point if i had believed in reincarnation and at the time i didnt but she proceeded to lell me she was her daughter's daughter in a previous life, I looked at my Boss and she was looking down but shook her head for yes like she was embarrassed. Well my Bosses sister also worked for them and handled business on the western end of the UP and had a small job for us at a paper plant in Ontonogon 2 days for the 4 in our crew, we did the job and getting ready to head back but the Sister said she came up with more work for us, and none of us brought extra cash planning only for a stay of one night. She said we could crash at her house and she would feed us. One of the guys i worked with actually my neighbor growing up, his grandfather had a heart attack, and the mother or Secretary was driving the 2 hours to pick him up and bring him home,meanwhile our host was making Mexican food. The house is in Silver city, more of a location the a city, a couple blocks of houses and a bar sitting on the shore of Lack Superior this was late November a little snow on the Ground. As she was getting supper ready, we where getting showered and cleand up in this small 1 floor house, my turn to get cleaned up in the Bathroom, i started brushing my teeth and the hair on my neck and arms started standing on end and felt like i was beeing watched, obviously i was by my self and the feeling went away. Started my shower and the hairs back at attention again the feeling was rather oppressive this time i actually stopped washing and had to make sure i was alone again peering over the shower curtain, yep im alone. By now we are eating and the mother shows up to bring my buddy back, first thing out of her mouth was the house feel better, I thought it was a stange comment then the Daughter said the house was Haunted when she Moved in had a priest bless the house which didnt work the Mom with her Pow-wows got a Medicine Mam to bless the house and all was good. The mother said the firstime she went there she couldnt even go into the house, said she threw up. Well like i said earlier im open but prove me kind of guy, i thought mom was just a spiritual fruitcake, no mention of what kind of stuff happenend and at the time never gave the thought of my time bathroom any recognition lol. Well me and a buddy crashed on the living room floor, and the other dude in her 2 little Boys Bedroom, not sure where her Boys where at this time, assuming Oklahoma with Dad. Well sleeping on the floor i was having these reaccuring mightmares ive had many times in the past but of the 3 I had that night 2 turned like santanic twists too them which had never happened before, last dream was around midnight. I was sleeping and got woken by a bright light like someone Shining a flashlight in my eyes, opened my eyes nothing there just a fireplace with no fire, rolled to my belly looked down the short hall a beroom off of each side and bathroom at the end, no lights no sound or movement, weird I though, then rolled to my left side, buddy is there my head my his feet, big picture window curtains drawn and yard light so onto my back i rolled,started to relax, then all the sudden my face and neck started to tingle like when you arm falls asleep, then to full blown being choked with ny neck, i couldnt lift my head or say anything, so u started flailing my arms and hit my buddy next to me wating him up and the choking just stopped, my buddy grumbled why did you hit me and passed back out, my mind was racing what to do, 5 in the Morning, 6 was the time we where to get up, should i got sit in our shitty company van with crappy heat, decided to sit at the table, shortly after she get up and asks why i was up and and i said your house is cleared of spirits like Fuck, she kind of smiled and asked what happend and i explained and her eyes got big the said what had happened to her, first she said she say i mist in her bedroom the latter said it was pinning her id bed and doing sexual stuff but didnt elaborate. So i Told her i was done with the Job and her house, didnt care if i had to hitchhike all the way home or not. She canceled the Job and the dude in the kids room took the Van home, and my buddy on the floor stayed. Im thinking those 2 had something going on. Well i ran into my buddy that weekend at a friends Deercamp and him and her where at the local bar and asked whats thw story on the house, was built in the 70s, this happened to me in 89, well the gut that built the house was at the bar got drunk passed out with the car running gassed him his wife and Daughter. I was crying after hearing that, so i just assumed it was him for Years, but now days i think its indian burial related. I got into reasearhing history up hear and found out the indians placed there dead often times along the rivers feeding Lake Superior. I forget what tribe used this area, wasnt one of the local tribes, they where from lower Mi, but allowed to camp there during the summers, kind of clicked for me when the preist blessing didnt work but the medicine mans had till i stayed there, then shit just got worse, she claimed it started messing with her boys and moved out

Missing time "the forest was holding its breath"1 I'm new to Missing411, David Paulides and all of this stuff. My sister introduced me to it all about 4 days ago and after a few days of mulling it over, I'm going to post what is easily the weirdest shit to have ever happened to me. FWIW, I'm not an outdoorsy person at all. I jut happened to grow up near a national forest on the edge of NC/TN. I generally didn't, and still don't, hang outside much but I married a man who loves it so I've been roped into braving the wilderness a few times. Anyway, this happened about 2 years ago in the summer, shortly after the 4th of July at Clingman's dome. You guys can google it, but it is the highest peak in the Great Smokies NP. My husband had been hounding for everyone to go there, myself and two sons age 6 and 8 at the time. We were not going to stay overnight, just go to check out the summit viewing deck. Again, google it if needed. Now for those who have never been there, the viewing deck has two, maybe more ways you can get to it. The most common way and the way we took was to drive in, park, then take the about a mile hike to the deck. It is super easy, and also super busy depending on the time of year and it is also paved. We go, get up there and take some really amazing photos and hang out for a little bit. Now here is where, in hindsight, things started to get weird. My youngest child has epilepsy and a migraine disorder, has been seizure free for 2.5 years and headaches controlled by medication. As we are going back, he started to complain that he feels really hot and his head hurts. On the dome it is cold because of the high altitude. We were all needing long sleeves and it felt more like November instead of summer. I tell my husband and other child I'm going to carry him the rest of the way and me being the out of shape person I am, would meet them at the car if I got behind or had to take it slow, which I was sure I would from carrying 50 pounds of child. I didn't want to ruin their fun day and figured I would sit in the car with the AC blowing on little one and give him some migraine rescue meds, and that while we rested my husband and son could finish exploring. I made a halfass joke about sending the rangers in to find us if I didn't make it back to the car shortly after they did because I'm in shit shape and may need to be golf-carted out. They went ahead but were still in sight, maybe a few hundred feet, I'm not too sure. At this point, maybe it was a lull in the visitor levels, but there was no other people I could see in front of us or coming down behind us. My little one starts to cry, and say his both his ears and head hurt now too, and was covering his ears. At this point the weight of him was breaking my arms off so I put him down and told him we were going to sit down and rest for a few minutes. We walked off the paved trail and sat down at the edge of the treeline/grassline and I told him to close his eyes and just relax and lay down on the cool grass beside me, we were almost to the car, etc. I get my phone out to text my husband that we are resting, and I noticed it was silent because my text clicks sounded so loud. No wind, not a fucking thing. It was like someone pressed pause on the area, or that the forest was holding its breath would be another way to describe it. My mother is a paranoid wackjob about tornadoes (she grew up in Illinois so rightly so) and spent years pounding it into my head as a child that there is a 'calm before the storm' thing that happens and to take cover because it WILL be a tornado touching down despite that never happening here. So that was my first thought, holy shit, a tornado is about to happen because everything just went dead. My kid is now curled up beside me whimpering that he is scared, his ears hurt, make it stop, and wants to go home. I swear to you it felt like his little voice was the voice of a God, that is how silent the place was. By now the hair on my neck is standing up and it is just a general sick feeling I'm getting thinking a tornado is about to begin and suck us up. I actually started to feel afraid to look around me and focused on my kid and calming him down. At this point the area had this ominous, heavy feeling. I can't explain that one either, almost like I was afraid to look because I wouldn't like what I would see, like when you're a kid and you are afraid to look under your bed at night or something. I know it sounds insane. So we had been there for about 10 minutes or so when I got myself semi together and had a really strong, almost primal urge to get the hell out and down the trail. I picked up my still crying kid and literally ran the rest of the way. When we got there my husband and other child were nowhere to be found. He had the keys so we had to wait, at this point it was only our car and two others still there. I assumed those two were on another, less easy trail so I let little one sit on the hood and prepared for the wait. At this point I was still feeling leftover heebie jeebies from the creepy quiet where we rested off the trail but my kid was no longer complaining about his ears or his head. A few seconds later my oldest son comes racing down from the SAME FUCKING TRAIL we just came from with a look of sheer panic on his face before he turns his head and starts screaming that he found mom and brother. He was followed by my husband not even a minute later. My other son had been visibly crying and my husband immediately started screaming at us about where the hell we have been and if we are OK. I asked him what his issue was, and told him that I sent him a text saying we were resting for a little while off the edge of the trail. Now here is what made my blood run cold. He told me they had been looking for us for over 3 hours. I called him a liar, and that it probably just felt like hours. I said we were resting for about 10 minutes, but after checking my phone, his phone and even the clock in the car, it turned out that we really had be gone for about three and a half hours. Besides this, my husband and other child said they had went up and down the paved trail to the viewing deck three or four times while calling mine and my little son's name. This would have been impossible to miss because sound carries to an extreme level in that area, you could yell and it be heard a mile away. I promptly turned and asked my little son if he still needed his migraine medicine and he said the noise making his head hurt was gone and he was fine now. My husband asked him what noise and he said it sounded like a big bumble bee inside his head. We hauled out of there as fast as we could, all the while with my explaining every detail to my husband, who basically told me to shut up til we get home and could talk away from the kids. Needless to say, we haven't been back to that area again and my husband is no longer a fan of the woods like he used to be either. EDIT: I forgot to add this last part. It might be related, it might not. I feel it is, husband thinks it is just a random thing. My son's migraines and seizure activity on his EEGs stopped after this. It was like his brain had been re-set. I should have mentioned that but it was an after the fact thing, he had a follow up about 1.5-2mo after that incident. Before this, he had a history of seizures under control, adult level migraines as well as constant abnormal EEGs since just before his 2nd birthday. He hasn't had even a mild headache since. He has been deemed 'in remission' from his neurologist because his brain waves have remained pristine. My husband thinks I'm just drawing from coincidence on that one but I don't feel it is.

Sounds stupid in a way right? Who the hell takes those often friendly, likely harmlessly mischievous, small spirits as being malevolent? Probably very few, though I reckon that depends on the culture. Eastern European culture has some particularly....colorful ideas of certain types of fairies. Anyway, not my point. My story happened in North Carolina. It wasn't my house, but a close friends. He had just gotten off work, and living in a rural area, drinking tended to sum up his idea of fun if and when he wasn't hanging out with anyone. I wasn't a local, but I knew some of the area fairly well. The woods around my friends house, while i hadn't explored it all, I had been in and around it fairly often and i knew the majority of the nearby trails and where they led to and ended up at to a certain extent. I knew enough to feel comfortable walking alone and I knew where to stop and turn back since I lacked knowledge of the area, and also because at certain points, peoples property starts intersecting and while no one has ever pointed a gun at me or anything, I have seen large dogs on the edge of places like this and they growl quite a bit. They seem to get more aggressive the closer I approach, but if i turn away, they also turn away. Weird but okay. You can train dogs to be like that and to attack only if you approach within a certain range so thats typical. Anyway, I went a different route, and when I say diferrent, I mean that loosely. I went a familiar route, but then decided to go off path a little. There is a stream that connects to a nearby lake, but the stream sort of circles around the entire neighborhood, and in some places, continues on into the town itself that my friend lived outside of. To be a small stream, it's pretty long and flows all year long. Whelp, at one point while off trail, I found where a large tree had been knocked over and had formed a bridge I could cross. i had never walked on that side of the stream before, and curiosity got the better of me since while the stream could be jumped across if I got a running head start, it just hadn't even occurred to me to walk on the other side. Had never thought about it before. I still knew where about I was and could still remember how I had gotten to where I was and therefore knew how to get back. Anyway, I don't know when it happened. I don't remember leaving the stream. I had been walking next to the stream, just following it, when suddenly I was surrounded by woods, no stream, not even the sound of running water. And it was silent. Made no sense. I tried finding my way back and then the next strange part happened. I came to this place where everything was just....beautiful. I can't explain what I mean any better. Everything was PERFECT. The trees seemed taller, more vibrant, alive almost. Flower bushes, beautiful plants I can't describe with exotic colors of fruits, leaves, and flowers, chirping birds, chittering squirrels, so much COLOR. It was so beautiful, it seemed fantasy and unreal. I mean I'm leaving stuff out since I'm not good at describing this sort of thing...but it felt so EXTREMELY peaceful. I felt like I had walked into the literal Garden of Eden. Then as I started looking around, I noticed I couldn't move. I mean it was like my feet were glued to where they were. I could move my arms, legs, and head and so on, but I couldn't take a step further into wherever this beautiful place was. I also noticed I kept seeing these little "things" moving around me. Smaller than birds, but larger than any insect, and there were many of them, and I swear it, but they seemed to be TALKING, but all hushed so I couldn't understand them, or even hear if they were speaking any language I could possibly have known, but I could hear them. It was like whispering, but also like the sound was being carried all around me like it was echoing or something. It's hard to explain. They never seemed to come close enough for me to make out what they were, and I couldn't move a step towards them, but they always remained just on the edge of my eye sight, and curiously enough, any time they grew even slightly closer, my eyes would sort of blur and it's like my vision would lose focus and I wouldn't be able to see exactly how they looked. So they remained these....small, flying things that sort of seemed like they were talking,, whispering, flying, larger than an insect but smaller than a bird. Somehow, I wasn't being allowed to see whatever they were, or traverse into wherever I was. I don't understand it. Next thing I know, I'm standing by the stream again, with no memory of returning. The sun is setting also, which means I've been out in the woods for most of the entire day, when to me it felt like it had only been an hour, maybe two. Instead, 8-9 hours have passed since I got at my buddies place before 10 AM. Idk. I have no explanation for none of that, but it sure seemed like fairies to me.

View More7ft grey graveyard creature causing feelings of hopelessness: This happened about 14 years ago. My boyfriend and I went to a graveyard one night bc he had told me a story about how he had seen something there. He didn't really want to take me, but I insisted. He said that he had heard stories about the place, and if you go there and sit every night, you'd eventually see "it". He said he had finally seen the thing himself on the third or fourth consecutive night he visited, and it was "man-like and gray" but he had only caught a glimpse of it and never went back afterward. I remember him saying he had car trouble when it appeared also. Well, I couldn't resist, I wanted to see it for myself. On the third night we saw it. We were sitting in the dark with the moon being the only source of light (man, we were dumb) and we both suddenly got creeped out for the first time since we had been visiting the place. We changed our minds about the whole thing and decided to leave and never come back, but lo and behold, the car (MY car that has NEVER had any trouble before, and not again for years after this incident) wouldn't start. My bf was driving that night and kept trying and it did eventually start up. When the headlight came on full force, we saw it standing RIGHT IN FRONT of the car. It was about 7 ft tall and it was gray, in fact it looked like a moving statue to me. It was kind of bent over just looking into the windshield at us and we were freaking the hell out. Finally it kind of shifted and the car started. The thing darted off to the left so quick, I knew that if it came to the side windows we'd both be dead within a minute. It was so, so fast. But it just stood to the side of the car watching us as we drove away. The cemetery was laid out where the gravel road (old, country cemetery) went around the whole graveyard in a circle and looped back around so the entrance is also the exit. We were spinning tires and slinging gravel the whole way around but when we passed the place where the "thing" was, it hadn't moved. It had been standing there watching us go around the gravel circle and it let us leave, but it was looking directly at ME (the passenger side of the car was facing it) and I couldn't really make out any features bc it was dark, but I was overcome with the most severe depression I've ever felt in my life in that moment when I was looking back at the thing. It was like everyone and everything I cared about in my whole life was burned right before my eyes, the pain and hurt was almost tangible and it took my breath away in that moment. That night, when I was home and finally able to somehow sleep, I had a dream that the thing was calling to me from that graveyard, begging me to come back. It was harmless and miserable, stuck in that old cemetery forever and it was alone, so alone. When I woke up I was determined to go back to find the creature but before I could even tell my boyfriend, I got calls from him and two of my best friends. All three of them had nightmares where the thing had brutally murdered and mutilated me. The two girls who called me didn't know anything about the graveyard incident the night before, it was so late when I got back home I didn't tell anyone about it, just went to bed My bf dreamt that I had gone back to the place bc I felt bad for it so he drove out there after me. When he got there he found the thing ripping me apart, tearing me open. For a long time I had dreams about it saying "I won't hurt you, please come back and help me, I am suffering" and for awhile I had to fight the urge to go back even after three ppl told me about their nightmares where I die. The pull isn't strong at all anymore, I guess it faded with time and kids and adulting, but I do think about it often and I do kind of get a little itch just to drive through and... I don't know, it would be dumb as hell but there's always been a little nagging voice that whispers about the thing we saw that night. It had a masculine physique, but no genitailia and it's eyes were completely black, no iris or pupil or anything, just black inky nothingness. I've been searching all these years but the only pics I've seen that look even remotely like it are wendigos but not the ones with fur or antlers, just a grayish humanoid sexless thing. The best way I could describe it actually is... It looked like a statue to me. Does anyone have any ideas what this might be? It's bugged me for damn bear two decades and any suggestions will be appreciated.

This happened a few years ago. I was driving through east Pennsylvania, and I'm giving this girl I had just met at a friend's house that night a ride back to her place. Now, getting to her house involves going down a one lane road that I had driven on at least 100 times prior to this. At one section, the road meanders around a ridge by making a big right turn, then it does a sharp turn left after a couple hundred yards, and then right again where these two logs laying on the side of the road make a kind of "X" shape on the ground. Very distinctive landmark, at least for me. This is the way this road has always been. So there we are, trying to find topics to talk about to keep the car ride from becoming awkward since we hardly know eachother. We take a right turn, round the bend, then a sharp left turn and then..... there's a left turn up ahread. Immediately my body goes into fight or flight mode. I remember thinking "this isn't right, I know there's a right turn here. This is not what is supposed to be here." We both fell dead silent and just looked ahead in confusion. The road about 100 yards in front of me just turned left and disappeared off into the woods. To the right there was nothing, just the side of a hill and some trees. It looked completely natural, not like a mirage or anything, yet it felt so strange and almost... intentionally deceptive. None of this made sense. I knew these roads. As we approached the turn, I decided that I'm not going down that road, something "bad" was down that road, so I just made the irrational decision to turn right instead and hope for the best. The girl in the car put her hands on the dash board to brace for impact. My eyes were still fixated down the left turning road as I started steering to my right, and then as my gaze shifted towards the direction I was now driving in, suddenly I could see the "correct" road in front of me again. Everything was back to normal. I looked in the rear view mirror and sure enough, the left turning road was non existent. My hands felt icy cold and I was physically shaking. I pulled over to my right and just sat there in silence. We contemplated going back to investigate, but just looking at the road behind me gave me a sick feeling in my stomach; she felt it to. We decided to get the hell out of there and that was that. I was very hesitant to go down that road again and avoided it the best I could after that, but a few weeks or months later I decided to go back in the day time and check it out. I pulled over at the right turn spot, got out of my car and walked around the area. This is the part that really freaks me out. I quickly found out that on the left side of the road, obscured by some thick underbrush, was a very steep, rocky cliff that dropped off maybe 200 - 250ft into a ravine. The phantom road would have taken me directly through a clearing in between two trees that lead straight over the cliff. If I had chosen not to follow my gut and drove down that road, there's a very, very good chance that we would have been seriously injured or killed. Apparently several people have crashed in that area by driving down into the ravine, might just be coincidence by who knows. I dont know what to make of this event. If I were alone I'd be more willing to write it off as a hallucination or trick of the eye, but I wasn't alone. She saw the same thing I did. I wasn't intoxicated, although my passenger was a bit buzzed if I remember correctly. I've also never experienced anything out of the ordinary in my entire life other than this.
