The Entire Picture
Some time ago in the Cookson Hills of eastern Oklahoma, I took a canoe trip with one of my deacons down the Illinois River, one of the most beautiful streams in the world. The river twisted and turned, and around each bend we saw things happen one at a time as we came to them. But you could stand on the top of one of the highest hills in the area and see that river for a long distance.
That is how God sees things. To us, things happen one at a time, a day at a time, and we do not know what is around the bend of the day. But God sees the entire picture, from beginning to end.
