On Tuesday, Gov. Shapiro was quick to hold a press conference announcing two measles deaths and subsequently lectured constituents on the importance of getting vaccinated.
The only problem is that he gravely misrepresented the truth.
He might’ve gotten away with it, but Lancaster Health Commissioner Josh Parsons spoke out claiming there were no such cases reported by the county coroner.⬇️
“Any deaths from measles are required by law to be reported to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office. I have spoken at length with both a senior staff member from that office and the Coroner himself. They currently have zero measles deaths in Lancaster County. They have one death of a person who died WITH measles, but not from measles. We do not know if the state is counting that one. Nor do we know anything about the other death that officials reported yesterday.”
It’s time for Gov. Shapiro to APOLOGIZE.

It expands the list of reportable diseases, strengthens school *exclusion rules for unvaccinated* and “presumed susceptible” children, eases quarantine of contacts, and broadens access to student records for contact tracing.
This is not a small technical update. It is a significant expansion of state power over families and schools.
