Tuesdays tip: August 11, 2026.
I f you knew that this Sunday was our last one because mankind would be destroyed and we would face judgement, what would you do?
What kind of church would you go to this Sunday?
And, how would you worship this Sunday?
Remember we will give an account of our deeds.

August 8, 1801 - Cane Ridge Meeting House near Paris in Bourbon County was the scene of the largest camp meeting in the Great Revival movement. Hosted by the congregation meeting at Cane Ridge and their minister, Barton Warren Stone, the event attracted around 10,000 people at the multi-day revival.
Col. Robert Patterson of Lexington wrote "Of all ages, from 8 years and upwards; male and female; rich and poor; the blacks; and of every denomination; those in favour of it, as well as those, at the instant in opposition to it, and railing against it, have instantaneously laid motionless on the ground. Some feel the approaching symptoms by being under deep convictions; their heart swells, their nerves relax, and in an instant they become motionless and speechless, but generally retain their senses. . .” According to Patterson, the manifestations could last from one to twenty-four hours.
Patterson described the scene as “a large congregation assembled in the woods, ministers preaching day and night; the camp illuminated with candles on trees, at wagons, and at the tent; persons falling down and carried out of the crowd by those next to them and taken to some convenient place where prayer is made for them, some Psalm or Hymn suitable to the occasion, sung.
I have pondered this for sometime. I wonder how the Church in the book of Acts was able to have a move of God. There was No christian TV, no growth seminars, no how to DVDs, no facebook to promote them, and no formulas to follow.
How did they see cloven tongues like as of fire? How did 3,000 people get saved with one sermon? How did 5,000 believe in Acts 4:4?
Today it seems we have tried every new conference, read every book on how to grow a church, tried all the new ideas that have come along and proposed hundreds of other ideas and still it hasn't worked. Dinners are fine in their place, community events may be ok also.
We seem for the most part to be willing to work at all types of projects and spend hours upon hours in conferences, seminars and even putting together programs to make churches grow.
It seems we have done everything except what the church in Acts did! Luke 24 tells us why the church exploded in Acts.
Jesus said go tarry until you be endued with power from on high. Acts 2 says when the 120 gathered and had tarried (prayed) Pentecost came and the church was changed. Acts 3 said Peter and John were on the way to the temple to (pray) when the lame man was healed. Acts 4:13 said they took knowledge (or saw) Peter and John had been with Jesus (seeking him) Jesus physically was taken back by then. So the people saw they had spent time in prayer. Acts 4:31 also said and when the had "prayed" the place was shaken.
If you ever get the opportunity read about the Cane Ridge revival that happened near Paris Kentucky in 1801. Thousands prayed all night, preaching lasted all day. People fell off their wagons and their horses under the power of God.
No DVDs, CDs, seminars or conferences just people coming to pray for God to move.
It's not programs, professionalism, gadgets, special Lights or anything else. Prayer will bring real change. I remember when we came 30-45 minutes before church and prayed and then we had real church and people came and people were changed.
I also remember when I pastored in Harlan Kentucky I told the church we were going to have a revival and we were going to pray for two weeks every morning and night before we had revival. We met every morning for an hour and prayed for two weeks and the result was a two week revival with 24 people being saved.
“Prayer” produced “Pentecost”. Pentecost” brought “Power”. “Power”’caught “People’s”
attention.
“People” were attracted to the “Presence” that came from the fruit of “Prayer".
We can see it again if we hunger and thirst for him.

God is not shook up over what is going on in your life or what’s happening in the world!
2 Kings 6. the king of Israel was passing by there cried a woman unto him, And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow. So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son. And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh. Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day. “But Elisha sat in his house”, Elisha knew God was in control no matter what the king said and no matter what happened…
1…. God is not surprised by what is going on in the world or in your life…
2… God is not slack concerning his promises David said I have never seen the righteous for sake in nor his seed begging for bread…
3… God is not sleeping.
God is awake and aware of your problems…
Put your trust in God Psalms 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

What began with one man praying quietly on Fulton Street became a national awakening.
Jeremiah Lanphier was a soft-spoken businessman, not a preacher or public figure, who took a job as a lay missionary with the North Dutch Reformed Church in Lower Manhattan. Grieved by the spiritual indifference around him and stirred by prayer, he began inviting people to a noonday meeting on Fulton Street, just steps from Wall Street. On Wednesday, September 23, 1857, he opened the doors to a small upper room. For thirty minutes, no one came. Then one man entered. By the end of the hour, six were gathered, quietly seeking God in the heart of the financial district.
Encouraged by that small beginning, the men met again the next week.
Word spread.
The following Wednesday, the attendance doubled.
Then it tripled.
Soon, the group began meeting every day at noon. In a city driven by schedules and business deals, men from banks, shipping firms, law offices, and trading houses were stepping away from their desks to pray. The meetings included scripture, brief exhortations, short prayers, and testimonies, all within a single hour, so workers could return to their jobs filled with fresh strength.
Within weeks, the crowds outgrew the original building. Overflow rooms opened, and more churches across Manhattan began offering noonday prayer gatherings. Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Boston, Cleveland, and Chicago followed. The movement spread across the country with astonishing speed. It is estimated that over ten thousand people were gathering daily for prayer in New York City alone.
Across the nation, over one million people came to Christ during the next year.
Entire towns were stirred. Churches were filled. The spiritual climate of America began to shift.
One of the remarkable features of this move of God was that it was led by everyday people. Businessmen, clerks, tradesmen, and students came together to pray. There was no central personality driving the revival. Instead, the Spirit moved through the prayers of ordinary believers.
People entered with humility and left with hope.
Meetings were marked by sincerity, reverence, and a deep sense of the Lord’s presence.
In the heart of America’s most ambitious city, God drew hearts back to Himself through prayer.
The revival’s timing was extraordinary. In October 1857, just weeks after those first prayer meetings, the stock market crashed. Banks closed. Businesses failed. Wall Street was shaken both economically and spiritually. In the midst of financial collapse, thousands turned to Christ. Some accounts describe men kneeling to pray outside the Stock Exchange. Ships arriving in New York Harbor reported a sense of conviction upon entering the city. The presence of God rested on the streets and sanctuaries of Manhattan.
What began with one man praying quietly on Fulton Street became a national awakening.

True revival will ONLY happen when the altar is wet and stained with tears. Sadly in most Churches the altars have been removed and replaced with entertainment.
Many churches used to have altars but replaced them we have made stages because they look appealing and some said altars offend people.
Bring back the altar and let’s have prayer time!

There’s a lot of noise out there there’s a lot of things in the church that makes it look real.
But once you have tasted the real power of the Holy Ghost, once you have tasted the Real Thing, you can never be satisfied with an imitation.
If you stay around the imitation long enough, the substitute long enough, you can get adjusted to it, you can get used to it.
Give me the real thing.
Coke uses the phrase “It’s the real thing”.. Jesus is the REAL thing.
