View MoreWith Bolsonaro’s chatter and defense, Silvinei opens hearings of the Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry In a speech, former director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) during elections denied any omission in elections, accused the press and said he is looking for a job Silvinei Vasques, a 48-year-old former federal road police officer who commanded the PRF for eight months last year, opened this Tuesday (20) the hearings phase of the CPMI on January 8th. For him, it is “normal in the PRF for the police to have a candidate in their off time.” The testimony — which has already lasted about five hours, with one at lunch — has already shown that the opposition should really aim its criticism at the rapporteur, Eliziane Gama (Partido Social Democrático-MA), the only woman in the CPMI leadership. It was she who led the commission's first public exchange, when she insisted that Silvinei indicate whether or not he had been convicted in the criminal sphere. Eder Mauro (PL-PA), a deputy who is not even a member of the CPMI, ordered her to shut up. “Go scream somewhere else,” snapped the senator. "Shut up!" The CPMI should focus its efforts, until the July recess, on investigating issues prior to the acts of January 8th. Therefore, in the next session, scheduled for this Thursday (22), parliamentarians should hear those accused of planning a bomb attack at Brasília airport, including George Washington de Oliveira Sousa – who placed a bomb in a fuel tank close to the terminal.
