They say it is going to shoot a man in a wheelchair on live television, or maybe YouTube, until he is dead. I do not know where you would watch it, and I do not care whether he deserves it. What interests me is the simple fact that the same system is clearly capable of punishing people when it decides to.
That is the part that does not sit right. Not a single person named in the Epstein files has been charged for crimes that are already documented. The same people who talk about bringing back firing squads have never stood in front of one. There is no accountability for the ones who write the rules.
But none of that is good or bad. There is no such thing. There is only true or false. Getting rich or going broke, being cheated on or getting engaged, staying healthy or getting sick, having a baby or losing someone—these are just events that happened. They are true. Anything beyond that is a value you assign.
Positive and negative are subjective. A shifted perspective can turn a burden into a blessing. Redefine a loss as a lesson, an obstacle as an opportunity, trauma as training, and the shape of your life changes. Suddenly the world is not as dark, and there is nothing left to be depressed about.
Most people will not do that. They keep boo-hooing because it is easier to blame the world than to admit the problem is the lens they are looking through. The government can punish when it wants to. It chooses not to in certain cases. That is true. Whether you call it justice, hypocrisy, or just another neutral fact depends on the story you decide to tell yourself about it.
