It does not excuse what she did.If women can ask for empathy for Lindsay Clancy because postpartum psychosis took over her mind, that standard has to cover Atkins too. You can feel sorry for how either woman was broken and still put the victims first. Empathy that only runs one way is not empathy. It is a preference.
