Marilyn Hampton spent 39 years as a custodian for the Aubrey Independent School District in Texas. Now a brand new elementary school will carry her name.Superintendent Shannon Saylor said Hampton did far more than her job required over the decades, from buying and delivering school supplies to helping students study for tests. The district surprised her with the news during a school board meeting, having her roll out a red carpet, a task similar to ones she used to do herself.Hampton, who said she used to see herself as a failure for not going to college, could barely process the honor. “I still can’t believe it.
