Poland just put a price on a permanent American base, and it is ready to pay. 🇵🇱The number came out today from General Dariusz Łukowski, a senior defense official, in the newspaper Rzeczpospolita. The base itself: about 3 billion zlotys, roughly $760 million.Homes, schools, kindergartens and a hospital around it: more than 10 billion zlotys on top. The defense minister's number for the whole project is about 15 billion, or $3.8 billion. It could house about 5,000 American soldiers. With their families, that means at least 15,000 people. Most U.S. troops in Poland today come on rotations. These would stay.Four cities are on the list: Wrocław (VROTS-wahf), Poznań (POZ-nahn), Bydgoszcz (BID-goshch) and Szczecin (SHCHEH-cheen).Nothing is signed. The general says the final decision belongs to President Trump, and building would take at least three years. In September, Trump wrote that it would be "a historic step for our Great U.S./Polish Alliance."Which city should get the American base?
