⚡️ Tesla is facing a growing gap between customer demand and its ability to produce vehicles fast enough. Elon Musk says demand for Tesla cars is increasing much faster than production, with the company’s order backlog now at its highest level in four years.
Musk also pointed to Full Self-Driving (FSD) as an increasingly important reason customers are choosing Tesla vehicles.
In North America, more than 75% of new Tesla deliveries include a paid FSD subscription, showing how important Tesla’s driver-assistance software has become to the company’s vehicle business.
The development gives Tesla another major growth opportunity beyond simply selling cars. If FSD continues attracting buyers and subscription adoption keeps increasing, software could become an increasingly important part of Tesla’s overall business.
At the same time, the growing backlog puts pressure on Tesla to increase production.
Strong demand can benefit the company, but only if its factories can keep pace with the number of customers waiting for vehicles.
