October 2016. The subtitle read, โ€œHow waves of immigrants are reshaping a continent.โ€
Well, here we are ten years later, and Europe is still fighting over immigration, border security, integration, and national identity. The European Union has even introduced sweeping new asylum and immigration rules.
And I think America ought to be paying attention.
For years, people who questioned mass immigration were often treated like the problem. Raise concerns about border security, cultural integration, or the consequences of immigration policies, and somebody was ready to call you intolerant.

I have nothing against people who come here legally, respect our laws, work hard, and want to become Americans.
But I absolutely oppose illegal immigration, and Iโ€™m tired of the idea that Americans are somehow obligated to accept unlimited immigration without questioning the consequences.
A country has every right to protect its borders, preserve its traditions, and expect newcomers to respect its laws.
That includes our Constitution.
You are free to practice your religion in America. Thatโ€™s one of the things that makes this country great. But no religious or political ideology gets to place itself above our Constitution or demand that Americans surrender their freedoms.

President Trump has brought illegal border crossings down dramatically. Good. Thatโ€™s what enforcing the law is supposed to accomplish.
But the bigger conversation doesnโ€™t end at the border. We still have to talk about assimilation, immigration enforcement, public resources, and what kind of country weโ€™re leaving our children.
Europeโ€™s experience deserves serious examination. We should learn from its successes and failures instead of waiting until problems become harder to solve.

Ten years ago, the conversation was about how immigration was reshaping Europe.
Ten years from now, I donโ€™t want Americans looking back at 2026 wondering why we were afraid to have that same conversation.
Immigration should happen on Americaโ€™s terms, under American law, with American constitutional freedoms protected.
