This is what I voted forTRUMP BORDER POLICIES KILL THE AMERICAN DREAM FOR 400-MIGRANT CARAVAN STUCK IN MEXICOA caravan of about 400 migrants, mostly from Honduras, has stalled in Arriaga, Chiapas, after more than 13 days of walking through heat and rain. Local reports show them waiting on Mexico’s National Migration Institute for permits to push toward Oaxaca. With no clear answer, some say they may keep walking without permission. The group has effectively abandoned the American Dream. According to the reporting, their focus has shifted to the Mexican Dream instead. Secure borders and real deportations changed the math. Caravans that once aimed for Texas are now settling for Mexico.Arriaga has long served as the starting point for La Bestia, the freight trains migrants used for years to ride north toward the U.S. border. That route no longer leads to easy entry. President Trump’s closed border and enforcement posture stopped the march in its tracks. As Trump said, it only took another president.Mexico let them in. Mexico can keep them. They can claim asylum there if they wish. The days of large groups walking straight to the U.S. border under the assumption of release are over.
