The numbers tell a clear story about who shows up and who stays home. Roughly 80 percent of registered Muslim voters cast a ballot last cycle, while only about 56 percent of voting-age Christian adults did the same.
That difference is not a story of one group overpowering another at the polls. It is a story of millions of Christians who are eligible to vote yet choose not to. The Christian population is large enough that consistent participation would shape outcomes far more than any smaller group’s turnout rate.
When a majority community sits on the sidelines, the smaller, more mobilized groups gain influence by default. Showing up is the simplest way to make the country’s largest faith community count again.
