Look in the mirror long enough and the truth shows up.
For years, Democrats have called Donald Trump a fascist, an authoritarian, a threat to democracy. They say they are defending our institutions. Fine. Then judge them by how they act when those institutions tell them no.
When the Supreme Court struck down his student loan bailout, Joe Biden bragged that the Court "didn't stop me." His administration extended the eviction moratorium after he admitted it likely would not pass constitutional muster. Court packing, killing the filibuster, scrapping the Electoral College, all of it lands on the table the moment the rules get in the way.
That is not defending the Constitution. That is treating it like a roadblock.
Then look at how they talk about you. "Deplorables." "Garbage." The message never changes. You are too ignorant to know what is good for you, so they will shame and divide you until you fall in line.
That is projection. They accuse their opponents of exactly what they want to do themselves.
Then came 2024. Trump swept all seven swing states and won the popular vote. A party that respected voters would have listened and changed course. Democrats chose rage instead, more protests, more lawsuits, and no new ideas.
Worse, they opened the tent to the Democratic Socialists of America. A DSA member now runs New York City, and the governor and the top House Democrat endorsed him. The fringe is no longer the fringe. It is the direction of the party.
Madison warned in Federalist 47 that concentrating all power in the same hands is "the very definition of tyranny." The Founders built checks so no faction could rule unchecked. Today's Democrats see those checks as obstacles.
The cartoon nails it. The uniform they keep trying to pin on Trump is the one staring back at them in the mirror.
Who is the bigger threat to the Constitution, the man they call a dictator, or the party that treats the Constitution like a speed bump?
