MARCO RUBIO, “CHRISTIAN CIVILIZATION,” AND THE PROPHETIC QUESTION OF CHURCH AND STATE https://adventistangelswatchmanradio.com/2026/10/08/marco-rubio-christian-civilization-and-the-prophetic-question-of-church-and-state/ 📢 MARCO RUBIO, “CHRISTIAN CIVILIZATION,” AND THE PROPHETIC QUESTION OF CHURCH & STATE What does the rise of “Christian civilization” language in Western politics mean when examined through the Bible and the writings of the Adventist pioneers? Marco Rubio has emphasized the historical relationship between Greece, Rome, Christianity, and Western civilization. The historical influence of Christianity on Western society is undeniable—but Scripture calls us to ask a deeper question: Is Western civilization the kingdom of Christ? Jesus declared: “My kingdom is not of this world.” — John 18:36 The Bible distinguishes between Christian influence and political Christianity, between religious liberty and religious coercion, and between the kingdoms of this world and the everlasting kingdom of God. The Adventist pioneers repeatedly warned about the danger of combining church and state, especially when government power is used to enforce religious objectives. Revelation 13 places the final conflict over worship, conscience, and civil power at the center of prophecy. The question for the Watchman is therefore not simply: “Is Christianity being spoken about in government?” But: “Will religious faith remain a matter of conscience, or will the State eventually enforce religious principles?” The Three Angels' Messages point us beyond every earthly civilization: “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” — Revelation 14:7 Our ultimate citizenship is not in Rome, America, Europe, Africa, or any earthly political civilization. “Our citizenship is in heaven.” — Philippians 3:20 The final hope of God's people is not the restoration of an earthly Christian empire—but the soon coming of Jesus Christ and the establishment of His everlasting kingdom. 🔔 WATCH THE DEVELOPMENTS.
