High living costs do not appear by accident. Years of heavy regulation, steep taxes, and barriers to building have pushed housing, energy, and everyday goods out of reach in the states these leaders govern. Residents pay more while watching services strain and businesses leave.
Promises to ease the burden ring hollow when the same approach keeps producing the opposite result. Restricting supply, layering mandates, and treating productive work as a revenue source does not lower prices. It simply shifts the pain onto families already stretched thin.
Voters can judge the record for themselves. States that prioritize growth, housing construction, and lighter rules tend to keep more money in people’s pockets. The pattern is hard to ignore once the slogans are set aside.
