There is something deeply wrong happening in our world, and most people are not paying attention.We are building a culture of death.Everyone dies. That is not what I am talking about. I am talking about death delivered by the system, approved by the government, and sold to the public as compassion.In Canada, about one in every 20 deaths is now an assisted death. In 2024 alone, 16,499 Canadians died this way. That is not a rare exception anymore. That is routine.We are normalizing the idea that a sick person can simply be put down, like an old dog at the vet. And we are calling it mercy.But think about what that decision closes off forever.What if a new treatment became available next month? What if a clinical trial opened up? What if God chose to heal? People of faith have seen it happen. Doctors have been wrong before, and they will be wrong again. Death is the one decision you can never take back.Then there is the question of who holds the power.Canada runs a government health system. Patients wait months to see a specialist, and some die while they wait. When the same system that rations your care also offers to end your life, that is not freedom of choice. That is a conflict of interest.A government that controls the waiting list should never control the exit door.The Founders understood that our rights come from our Creator, not from the state. Life comes first in the Declaration for a reason. A government that starts deciding which lives are worth the cost of treatment has forgotten who it works for.This is not happening somewhere far away. Oregon and Washington made this chart, and they are not alone. Other states have followed them.What begins as a rare exception does not stay rare. The numbers prove it.We should be horrified. Instead, we are getting used to it.Should the government that controls your health care ever be allowed to offer you death as a treatment option?
