John Thune sat on a 53-seat edge and treated the SAVE America Act like optional homework. Proof of citizenship is not a faction hobby. It is how you keep a roll from becoming a subscription. The Court already opened a federal ID match. Harris called a purge cheating. Thune’s contribution was not bringing the bill. That is not leadership. That is a lounge.A majority that will not walk election integrity is a majority for show. Same-day voting, paper, photo ID — none of it finishes if the floor never sees the text. Thune can talk procedure until the lights dim. Procedure that never produces a vote is a stall. The country hired a scheduler who was supposed to schedule the fight.America First is the roll call. Put SAVE on the floor. Let every name attach to a yes or a no. Stop hiding behind “we don’t have the votes” when the job is to take the attendance. Thune does not have to be a villain in a novel. He has to stop being the reason the statute dies in a drawer. Fire is the conference’s business. The country’s business is the bill. Walk it. Or get out of the way of someone who will.
