​Her death was shared by her husband, combat medic Danylo Yivzhenko, and her former colleague Oleksandra Nekrashchuk.
​ Danylo shared that he and his wife were actively planning for their future. Late last year, they took out a mortgage to buy an apartment, and they were planning to have a child this winter.
​"Masha is dead. I lost a friend, a girlfriend, a wife, and the mother of my future children— who will now never be born. Masha was wonderful, intelligent, and deeply patriotic. She was my voice of reason and the embodiment of care," Danylo wrote.
