Congresswoman Delia Ramirez said, "We are going to abolish the Department of Homeland Security so our people will no longer have to live in fear."That is a sitting member of the United States House. She represents Illinois's 3rd District. She sits on Homeland Security. And she just told the country she wants that department gone.She announced a bill this week that would dismantle DHS and abolish ICE and Border Patrol. She calls it the Reimagining Safety Act. Safety for whom is the question.Listen to the words. "Our people." She did not say American citizens. She did not say the families who expect the government to enforce the law. She meant the people she thinks ICE is after.Those are not the same thing.Delia Ramirez is a traitor to this country. It is a disgrace she is in Congress.The Department of Homeland Security exists because this nation was attacked. It exists so Americans do not have to live in fear of the next attack, the next cartel pipeline, or the next person who should never have been here.Ramirez flipped that on its head. She says her people live in fear because the law is being enforced.This is not a slip. She has been calling for the end of ICE for months. Now she wants the whole department gone.She does not care about the rest of us. She cares about her people.An oath of office is to the Constitution and the United States. It is not a promise to shield people who broke immigration law from the consequences.If she cannot tell the difference between the American people and the people she is protecting from ICE, she does not belong in the House.A member of Congress who treats Homeland Security as the enemy is not confused.
