White privilege is nothing but a myth. Everyone I know grew up poor to middle class and had to work their asses off for everything they ever got.I know because I grew up in a lower middle class family. We were not poor. We also did not have a lot of extras, and we did not go on many vacations.Everything I earned came from hard work and struggle. It did not come from the color of my skin.When I grew up, my peers were mostly race blind. We hung out with the kids we liked and stayed away from the ones we did not. It was about who they were. It was not about anything else.We all worked part time jobs after school. If we wanted extras, we paid for them. A car. A little cash in your pocket. Nobody handed it over because of race.That is why the white privilege talk never sat right with me. It treats a kid sitting on a curb with a toolbox like he won the lottery. He did not. He got what he worked for.Nobody in my world got a house or a diploma from being white. They got those things because they showed up and kept at it when it was not fun.White privilege is a myth in modern times. If anything, being white now gets you discriminated against, at least by leftists. They built school rules and hiring rules that treat your race like a problem. They call it equity. What it is, is picking winners and losers by skin color.I did not get a head start from my skin. I got chores, an after school paycheck, and the knowledge that if I wanted something I had to earn it. Same as the kids I grew up with.Did the kids you grew up with get ahead by skin color, or by showing up and working?
