Haiti’s president demanded respect at the UN and then drank straight from the pitcher like the glassware was a suggestion. The clip is comedy. The policy is not. A state that cannot keep order at home has spent years lecturing Washington while exporting its crisis onto American cities.Respect is not owed as a slogan. It is earned by a government that can police its streets and feed its people. Haiti has been a security failure with a flag. TPS expansions and parole pipelines treated that failure as America’s staffing problem. Doctors and engineers was the brochure. What arrived was a load the schools and shelters were never built to carry.America First means the pitcher clip is the least of it. Stop the fiction that a collapsed state is sending a professional class to rescue Ohio. End the open-ended protections. Send home the people who have no right to stay. Port-au-Prince can have its speeches. It does not get a permanent claim on U.S. benefits because a leader looked sloppy at a microphone. Fix Haiti in Haiti. That is the only respect that counts.
