Billie Jean King wins 'Battle of the Sexes' tennis match against Bobby Riggs on September 20, 1973 | Houston, TX
53 years ago today, a little tennis match was held in the Houston Astrodome. 29 year old Billie Jean King beat 55 year old Bobby Riggs.
The match was see live by 30,000 people, still the largest crowd to ever watch a tennis match in the U.S. An additional 90 million watched worldwide on tv.
Oh, and King killed Riggs, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
