German sadists pour water into her nose and mouth. Monstrous choking and gagging. They hang her with arms twisted behind her back. Inhumanly they beat her with batons until unconsciousness. The 20-year-old poet remains steadfastly silent to the end. In the end, a hail of German bullets tears apart her young body. She had a head full of dreams and a notebook filled with poetry. Instead of an index, she got a number camp one, and instead of literary fame, execution. Her word was more dangerous to the Germans than a rifle. She displayed wide-ranging humanistic interests: literary, theatrical, cinematic. During the occupation, she took part in the conspiracy. She joined the Command of Defenders of Poland, founded by her father. Together with her sister, she edited and distributed the periodical "Poland Lives." Arrested by the Germans and deported to Ravensbrück. In the camp, she wrote poems. Some of them survived because fellow prisoners memorized them. 20 IX 1921 she came into the world EXECUTED BY GERMAN CRIMINALS GRAŻYNA CHROSTOWSKA. Forever in our memory!
