Paul defends his ministry with humility, sincerity, and love while warning the Corinthians about false teachers who disguise themselves as servants of the Lord. Paul explains that spiritual deception is subtle, often appearing good, and urges believers to guard their minds and test all teaching with God's word. The Spirit will give discernment; in spiritual matters, discernment is not the ability to know right from wrong, as you already know that. Discernment is the ability to know what is right from what is almost right. We come to today's verse: spiritual deception can appear attractive and righteous. False teachers may mimic true ministers, making discernment essential. Evaluate spiritual leaders and teachings carefully, and ensure all teachings and leaders line up with God's word. Guard your mind with the word of God. Stay alert to spiritual deception that sounds good and looks easy. The lessons: true spiritual authority is gentle like Christ, Satan deceives with subtle, attractive lies, and not every message claiming Christ is genuine. God will judge every false teacher; stay close to the Shepherd, and you will not be fooled by wolves. Amen.
