15. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift. 2 Corinthians 9:15; KJV. Paul continues his appeal for generous giving, reminding us that we shall harvest what we sow. God loves a cheerful giver and supplies all our needs so that we are sufficient in all things. Paul reminds the Corinthians that their giving will supply the needs of the church in Jerusalem and serves as a sign of thanksgiving to God. And we come to today's verse, many do not realize that God's unspeakable gift is Christ Jesus our Lord, the supreme gift above all others; He offered Himself without reservation, and Christ is the ground and motivation for all Christian generosity. Application for the Christian life: give joyfully and willingly, trust God to supply all your needs, and use your blessings to strengthen others. The lessons are that generosity comes from God, we should be cheerful when giving, God provides both the seeds and the harvest, and giving glorifies God. The unspeakable gift, Christ, is the model for all giving; He held nothing back, giving His life for ours. Words cannot describe what Christ has done for us; let Christ be your inspiration as you journey through life. Amen.
