America pulled down Confederate statues because they represented a war that divided the nation and a cause that failed. Those monuments were judged by the conflict they commemorated and removed from public view.The hijackers who struck on September 11 did so in the name of their religion and killed thousands of innocent people. Yet their places of worship receive protection others do not.If statues come down because of the war they represent, mosques tied to the ideology behind 9/11 deserve the same scrutiny. Anything else is not consistency. It is willful blindness.
