FBI Arrests California Man in Alleged Scheme to Pay Skid Row Residents to Forge Ballot Petition Signatures Using Stolen Voter IdentitiesFederal prosecutors say James Brass, 47, allegedly used registered California voters’ identities and paid people on Los Angeles’ Skid Row to copy their information onto ballot initiative petitions and forge their signatures. Two petition circulators, Courtney Price, 49, and Jateisha Herron, 33, were also charged. All three face conspiracy to commit identity fraud in furtherance of a state felony, while Brass and Price face an additional identity-fraud count. Brass pleaded not guilty and was released on $10,000 bond. FBI Director Kash Patel said: “If you mess with our elections, this FBI will find you.”
