We work together, raise families, help neighbors, comfort strangers, build businesses, coach children, share meals and show up when someone needs us. That is the real America. It happens constantly. It simply does not generate enough fear, anger or clicks to lead the news.If you allow politicians, newspapers, algorithms and the ugliest event of the day to define how you see 340 million American neighbors, congratulations. You have outsourced your perception of reality to people who profit from keeping you frightened and furious.That is not enlightenment. They are promoting an agenda, selling an identity or repeating something an algorithm trained them to believe.
