If capitalism only benefits the rich, why do its critics keep choosing capitalist countries to live, work, and build careers in?The people pushing socialism do it in rich Western countries. They do not do it from Havana. They do it from a campus, a coffee shop, and a house somebody else paid for.In this country it is mostly the privileged children of the rich. They want the slogan. They do not want to give up the car, the vacation, the nice kitchen, and the rest of the trappings of a wealthy country. They fly Gate A and preach Gate B.How many of them have moved to Cuba to live under the system they sell? Easy answer, none. A bunch of hypocrites.Cuba is 90 miles off Florida. The experiment is running. The people there are not lining up to import more of it. The people here with the tote bags are not lining up to export themselves. They want equality on a poster and a private bedroom in a capitalist zip code. They want climate action and a career. They want the microphone this country gives them and the system that would take the microphone away.Social justice now, the bag says. The plane they board says better jobs and higher wages. Same critics. Different destinations.A person who believes the medicine works swallows it. A person who believes socialism is mercy goes and lives it. These people stay where the lights work and call that courage. If the other gate was the future, it would not be empty. They pick the country that made them comfortable, then spit on the system that did it. Gate B is empty for a reason. If socialism is so great, why won’t the people selling it go live under it?
