This LANDMARK sculpture - placed on the grounds of The Kennedy Center WAY BACK IN TIME IN 2019 - was removed this week by the Trump administration. It’s called “Blue” and it was created by sculptor Joel Shapiro.Cue violins. The Other Side might at least try to sound less hypocritical as they DEFEND NEW SCULPTURE LIKE THIS AS ART - and tear down historic military statues as VA Gov. Abigail Spanberger did last week. She removed: Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson – Confederate General (bronze statue originally erected on the Capitol grounds in 1875). William "Extra Billy" Smith – Confederate General and former Governor of Virginia (erected in 1906). Dr. Hunter Holmes McGuire – Confederate Army surgeon (erected in 1904). Note - all historic figures of the Confederacy. It’s one thing when the mob like a BLM tears down historic statues, it’s another when the governor of a state does it.We all have different taste. Art is almost entirely subjective in the modern era.“Blue” is an abstract modern work. One can like it or not and describe with all kinds of adjectives, but to go crazy that this work is being replaced at The Kennedy Center - only because of who is removing it - while allowing the removal of other statuary - which really are historic - is reaching peak hypocrisy. The Other Side knows full well that this president - our Chief of the Department of Public Works - is rebuilding and repairing monuments in D.C. that will hew to the Federalist aesthetic.Trump said yesterday: “I am building monuments now because no one else will after I am gone.”How does this make him the bad guy?He has placed historic bronze statues - we wrote about it last week - around the Rose Garden, and Freedom Plaza. Plus his Garden of Heroes sculpture garden featuring marble likenesses of 250 prominent Americans from the past until the present will be completed soon.Is it too much to ask the Other Side to at least be consistent when they whine?Tell us what you think about this sculpture in the comments. Was it worth saving? What do you think will replace it, if anything?News clip in comments.@followers @highlight
